Everything I needed to do the battery upgrade was included in the box. JSAUX also provides step-by-step written instructions with pictures as well as a video tutorial to follow. Overall, the upgrade process was relatively easy. Plus, the larger battery capacity really does extend my gaming sessions by quite a bit.
Concluding our review, we found the JSAUX 65Wh battery to be a good product. It extends the running time of your 1st Gen Rog Ally from 1 hour at 25watts operating mode, up to almost 2x, and with lower TDPs you will get even higher differences.
For $79.99, this battery mod for the ROG Ally offers some decent value for anyone tired of frequently reaching for the charger while playing. The extended battery life, cooler operation and easy installation make it a great option for those who want to focus on gaming instead of babysitting their battery all the time.
Compatibility Notice
Using a 2230 to 2280 SSD adapter is not compatible with our provided heatsink. Additionally, the battery cable will be compressed beneath the adapter, which may affect performance and longevity.

Sono veramente orgoglioso di Jsaux. Il kit è arrivato nel tempo previsto prima dell’acquisto. L’imballo era serio e professionale. Un kit completo di tutti gli utensili, e si sentiva subito il profumo della qualità. La batteria è davvero l’eccellenza. Sono orgoglioso di questo brand. L’installazione è facile come mostrato nelle istruzioni sul sito. L’autonomia è quasi raddoppiata. Non ho mai superato 70° di temperatura grazie al nuovo dissipatore passivo. Sono veramente orgoglioso. L’ingombro della Rog Ally è rimasto lo stesso dell’originale, quindi rimane compatibile non solo con le cover di Jsaux ma con tutte quelle fatte per la Rog Ally in generale. Ho raccontato a tutti i miei amici di questo vostro mod-kit e a breve pubblicherò la mia esperienza anche su Instagram. Non so come dimostrare il mio orgoglio e gratitudine per Jsaux. Perfekte Erweiterung für den Ally. Alles an Werkzeug, natürlich auch die Battery, dabei. Die Anleitung war detailliert und die Extras mit Kühlkörper und Bumper für die Sticks haben mein Ally-💜 höher schlagen lassen. Volle Empfehlung 👍
Installation is pretty straightforward, I watched the video, which could have been better, a few steps were somewhat unclear, but I muddled through. The battery life appears to be greatly improved, I am currently playing through the Witcher 3 on my Ally, with the standard battery I could get around 50mins running in 15w performance mode on 50% battery. With this upgrade I managed nearly 1hr 30 for 50% battery.
I'm unsure about any improved cooling from the new heatsink, I never really paid much attention to running temps, plugged in and running at 30w I saw the CPU reach 96c in a benchmark, which according to a quick search, is what an unmodified one runs at.
Installation took less than 10 minutes following the instructions. And I was able to use my clear back plate, which I had already purchased here. I just had to cut off three small bars that weren't included with the one that came with it.
So far, I'm satisfied with the quality of Jsaux. The only downside is that I now have duplicates of some parts, like the back plate and the heatsink, since I've purchased them separately before and you can't order just the battery, at least not currently.
