Very good
I was very curious if this type of fan was really helping the Switch 2 to stay at a good temperature longer, and play longer while on a trip. And this device got everything right! On mobile, the console hardly last more 2h 15 min of gaming on average (on a couch, a bit of volume and brightness during daylight). When using the cooling fan, the session is extended by 20min, tops, and games stay smooth until the end. It does not sounds like a lot but of course, it depends on the game and how much demanding it is to the console. It is loud when the fan is running full speed, so keep that in mind. Looking forward trying it on a warmer condition. There is stand but the lower part blocks the access to the only usb-c that outputs HDMI. It would have been nice to have the cooling fan as a stand while playing on dock mode. A very good alternative for people who want to keep their hands cool while playing a bit longer !
I have the Steam Deck version, and I was able to at least confirm to myself that it really does help cool down the system. Not by a significant degree, but a few degrees here, a few degrees there, which can improve framerate a tad. So I got the one for the Nintendo Switch 2, used it on Cyberpunk 2077, and I can't confirm if it is exactly like the Steam Deck, where you actually can see an improvement. However, you can definitely feel the heat that's being exhausted from the game, especially when you're in places like Dogtown. So it is pushing out hot air. Basically, if you have the money and you want a peace of mind knowing that your switch is being cooled down a little bit, get it. It doesn't hurt.
It’s really the games with high performance demand that will drive extra heat. This is a great option to help keep your Switch 2 cool in handheld mode. The one downside is losing access to the bottom port. But… If you’re open to a slight mod, you can make your own access under the kickstand. Then this fan could be used while docked. 😉✌🏻
