Currently, we do not offer the Joy-Con portion of the PC0114 Split Protective Case separately. However, you can consider the PC0117 protective case as an alternative.
Q2. If I use only the middle part of the PC0114 Split Protective Case and do not attach the Joy-Con protective case, will the front cover still attach securely? Will it be loose?

This package is very cheap compared to competitors. I will lead by saying it does dock.
My only issue, is that the front cover needs the back cover to hold firm. I’m not sure the back cover has much value, and it does make the switch extra snug in the dock. Definitely check out the charging grip of all you want is the joy con grips and not the front cover.
My buddy has a killswitch and I loooved the feel of it, but I didn’t want to spend all that money on a grip case
I just ordered this and I don’t know if I can be any happier, especially considering the price
Grips are very comfortable, the front cover goes on very easily, and it docks easily and safely (though it is snug and requires two hands to undock)
I have only 2 critiques: the bottom lip is a bit flimsy, and if it’s at all loose, it will prevent the system from docking (some adhesive strips like dbrands killswitch comes with would’ve been nice. Will probably get some nano gel to fix this)

Oh! And the front cover WILL still go on when with Savage Raven’s biggest thumb grips installed, without making contact with the sticks
Grips are great but mine wont fit in the switch 2 dock with the consoles case on it so i just leave it off. If it fit well enough to dock id give 5 stars. Just be aware of that when buying.

The Split Protective Cases come with the same standard backplate design, which has been tested and confirmed to be compatible with the original Nintendo Switch 2 dock.
However, to ensure a smoother docking experience, we kindly suggest the following tips:
* Please make sure the case is properly aligned and fully pressed in before docking.
* Sometimes, a slight adjustment in the angle when placing the device into the dock helps it connect more easily.
* Ensure there is no debris or obstruction inside the dock or around the USB-C connector.
